He is a successful entrepreneur and has founded four companies in the past decade. In 2004 he founded Fluendo, a company building multimedia solutions based on the GStreamer framework and in 2006 Flumotion, which specializes in streaming technology and services and partners with world leading telcos such as NTT and Telefónica. Flumotion provides an Online Video and Radio Platform to major broadcasters and corporate clients such as Nestlé, Danone, L’Oréal Paris and Orange. In 2011 Julien co-founded LiveTranscoding.com, providing a market unique 24/7 live transcoding solution for broadcasters and event organizers.
Thomas Vander Stichele - CTO and Founder
Thomas is a veteran in developing streaming technology and an active contributor to the open source community. He co-founded Flumotion in 2006 and transformed it from a Free Software project, based on Python, Twisted and GStreamer, to a multiple award winning company, successfully combining a commercial and open source services. He has received a total of four Streaming Media Awards in the past two years. He is a frequent speaker at online video and Streaming conferences, such as the Open Video Conference in NY, Streaming Media Europe and Streaming Media East. In 2011 he co-founded and leads the technological development of San Francisco based company LiveTranscoding.com, and was invited to give the first public demonstration of the service at Streaming Media East 2011 in New York City.
